About Excel

A US-based contract manufacturer of tactical, ballistic, and protective sewn goods.

Since 1977, from a HUBZone facility in El Paso, Texas — family-owned, small business, and continuously operating for nearly five decades.

What Excel does

Serious, quiet, industrial.

Excel builds what its partners specify, at the volumes and quality standards their programs require. Buyers come away understanding three things: Excel has been doing this a long time, Excel is credentialed to work on federal defense programs, and Excel is set up to run programs at scale without drama.

Every program runs through the same El Paso floor under the same ISO 9001 quality system. Pattern making, sample development, cutting, sewing, laser cutting, seam sealing, quality control, packing, and shipping — the full stack, in one facility.

How we partner

What working with Excel actually looks like.

Build-to-spec, with development support.

You bring the specification. We support product development and sampling to get it production-ready, then build it at volume. We’re not originating designs from scratch — we’re making yours manufacturable and then making it well.

Your label, our floor.

Excel manufactures under our partners’ brands. The program is yours; the execution is ours. That arrangement has held for decades because it works for both sides.

Carrier systems, not ballistic materials.

Excel produces the textile carrier — the system that holds and positions the armor. Ballistic plate and soft armor integration stays with our partners, who own that qualification.

Program partners, start to finish.

We work with OEM sourcing teams, defense primes, and DoD program offices. Every engagement starts with a conversation about specification, volume, and timeline.

Inside the facility

7085 Alameda Avenue, El Paso.

Automated cutting, dual-head laser cutters, programmable bartack, full sewing lines, inspection, and shipping — all under one roof.

Heritage

Forty-nine years of sewn-goods execution.

Excel’s five-decade history includes production at scale for names synonymous with quality American apparel — among them Levi Strauss, Gap Inc., Tommy Hilfiger, and Eddie Bauer. Those relationships are heritage, not current services. What they left behind is the operating discipline of a shop that has consistently run at commercial volumes and quality standards since the late 1970s.

That same discipline now runs defense and tactical programs.

Leadership

The people behind the programs.

Excel is family-owned and small enough that leadership is on the floor with the programs.
