Seam Sealing
Waterproof seam taping for wet weather and moisture barrier systems — the finishing capability that turns a water-resistant garment into a waterproof one.
Current customers: DoD, prime contractors, technical outerwear brands
What we seal
- Wet weather parkas
- Wet weather trousers
- Bivy covers and sleep systems
- Moisture barrier liners
- Laminate and membrane fabrics
- Integrated with in-house cut, sew, and inspection
Why it matters
A waterproof fabric is only as waterproof as its seams. Every needle penetration is a path for water, so a garment built from a laminate or membrane shell is still water-permeable until the seams are taped.
Seam sealing applies heat-activated tape over the stitch line under controlled temperature and pressure, closing those paths. Done correctly it produces a genuinely waterproof system; done poorly it delaminates in the field.
Because Excel runs cutting, sewing, sealing, and inspection under one roof, sealed programs don’t ship out to a third party and back. Fewer handoffs, tighter control, shorter lead times.
